Applications

Post-emergence herbicide with foliar uptake only and no soil activity. A systemic herbicide that is readily absorbed by plant tissue is moderately phloem-mobile and accumulates in meristematic regions. Grass weeds cease growth immediately after treatment, with yellow patches appearing within 2-3 days to one week, leading to necrosis and death of the whole plant within 2 to 3 weeks. For post-emergence control of grass weeds in rice. Applied at 75-100 g/ha in tropical rice and 180-310 g/ha in temperate rice. For selectivity in Poaceae species.

Pyrazosulfuron-ethyl, one of the acetolactate synthase inhibiting herbicides in the sulphonylurea family, has been widely used to control weed growth in commercial cereal, soybean, and vegetable fields.

Bispyribac sodium is a selective, systemic and post emergent herbicide used to eradicate grasses and broad leaf weeds. Bispyribac sodium is also an acetolactate synthase (ALS or known as AHAS) inhibitor.
 

The mixture is a herbicide combination used in rice cultivation for broad-spectrum weed control

1. Target Weeds

This mixture is effective against a wide range of grass, sedge, and broadleaf weeds in rice fields, including:

  • Grasses: Echinochloa crus-galli (Barnyard grass), Leptochloa chinensis (Chinese sprangletop).

  • Sedges: Cyperus difformis (Smallflower umbrella sedge), Cyperus iria (Rice flatsedge).

  • Broadleaves: Monochoria vaginalis (Monochoria), Ludwigia spp. (Water primrose).

 

2. Application Details

Recommended Crops

  • Primarily used in transplanted rice and direct-seeded rice.

  • Some formulations may be labeled for use in other crops (check local regulations).

Dosage & Timing

  • Pyrazosulfuron-ethyl: 10-20 g a.i./ha (often formulated at 10% WP or 70% WG).

  • Bispyribac-sodium: 15-30 g a.i./ha (commonly 10% SC or 20% SC).

  • Application Stage:

    • Early post-emergence (2-3 leaf stage of weeds).

    • Avoid application during the tillering stage of rice to prevent crop injury.

Method

  • Spray application with sufficient water (500-600 L/ha).

  • Maintain 2-3 cm water level in the field for 3-5 days after application.
