Melting Point: 44-46ºC.
Vapour Pressure: 80 mPa(20ºC).
Stability: insoluble in water, easy soluble in toluene, chloroform and methylene dichloride. Stable for 270 days at 15-25ºC, stable for 84 days at 54ºC. It will lose 27-30% in 31 days when the aqueous solution(pH 7 is exposed to the sunlight. Between pH5 and pH7,hydrolysis > 30 days,when the pH is 9,hydrolyze 7% in 30 days.
 


 

Applications

 

Biochemistry	Acts on the nervous system of insects, and disturbs the function of neurons by interaction with the sodium channel.
Mode of action	Contact and vapour insecticide, type 2 pyrethroid. Also acts as a repellent with some adult Coleoptera.
Uses	Tefluthrin is first pyrethrin that is used soil pestcides. It is potent against coleoptera,lepidoptura and Diptera, tefluthrin is used in granule,soil insufflation and seed treatment.It has favorable volatility.Its half-life is one month in field. It has long residral effect period. Control of a wide range of soil insect pests, particularly those of the orders Coleoptera, Lepidoptera and Diptera, in maize, sugar beet, wheat and other crops, as granular and seed treatment products. Applied at 50-200 g/ha.
