1. Organic Synthesis 

 Chlorination Reactions 

  • Allylic/Benzylic Chlorination: Selectively chlorinates alkenes (e.g., cyclohexene → 3-chlorocyclohexene) and activated C-H bonds.

  • Aromatic Chlorination: Chlorinates electron-rich aromatics (e.g., phenols, anilines).

  • Heteroatom Chlorination: Converts thiols to disulfides or sulfonyl chlorides.
