Pyridaben is a METI acaricide that inhibits mitochondrial electron transport at complex I (METI; Ki = 0.36 nmol/mg protein in rat brain mitochondria). Pyridaben is active against a variety of mites, inducing 100% mortality of C. malaccensis, D. farina, and T. putrescentia when administered via filter paper contact at doses of 25, 100, and 200 mg/m3, respectively.
Etoxazole is non-systemic acaricide with effect on eggs, larvae and nymphs, with no effect on adults. Controls many phytophagous mites (Tetranychus, Panonychus spp.) in citrus, pome fruit, vegetables and strawberries, at 50 g/ha, and in tea, at 100 g/ha.
Pyridaben: A mitochondrial electron transport inhibitor (METI) acaricide that disrupts energy production in mites, leading to their death. It is effective against a wide range of mite species.
Etoxazole: An insect growth regulator (IGR) that specifically targets mite eggs and nymphs by inhibiting their growth and development.
Common Mites: Red spider mites (Tetranychus urticae), two-spotted spider mites, citrus red mites, etc.
Life Stages: Effective against eggs, nymphs, and adults.
Vegetables: Tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, etc.
Fruit Trees: Apples, citrus, grapes, strawberries, etc.
Ornamental Plants: Roses, ornamental shrubs, etc.
Dilution Ratio: Dilute according to the manufacturer's instructions, based on the crop and severity of the mite infestation.
Application Method: Foliar spray, ensuring thorough coverage of the plant surface, especially the undersides of leaves where mites often reside.
Application Timing: Apply during the early stages of mite infestation for optimal control. Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid high temperatures and reduce evaporation.
Pre-harvest Interval: Adhere to the safety interval specified on the label to ensure the safety of agricultural products.
Protective Measures: Wear protective clothing, gloves, and masks during application to avoid skin and eye contact.
Environmental Safety: Avoid spraying near water sources to protect aquatic life and beneficial insects like bees.
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, children, and food.
Can be mixed with other pesticides, but conduct a small-scale compatibility test first to avoid adverse reactions.
Rotate with acaricides of different modes of action to prevent the development of resistance in mite populations.
The Pyridaben·Etoxazole mixture is highly effective against a wide range of mite species and their life stages. Proper application, adherence to safety guidelines, and resistance management are essential for optimal results and environmental protection. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use.
