Physical & Chemical Properties
Appearance: Grayish-yellow powder.
Melting Point: Decomposes without melting at 192° C.
Vapour Pressure: Negligible at 25° C.
Stability: Stable in water 6.2 mg/L at 25° C, practically insoluble in most organic solvents. Decomposes in acid and alkaline conditions. Decomposed by heat and when exposed to moisture and air.
Toxicity
Oral LD50 (Rat)>5, 000 mg/kg. Dermal LD50 (Rabbit) >5, 000 mg/kg. Inhatation LC50: (1 h. ) 5.14 mg/l.
Application
Mancozeb is used to protect many fruit, vegetable, nut and field crops against a wide spectrum of fungal diseases, including potato blight, leaf spot, scab (on apples and pears), and rust (on roses). It is also used for seed treatment of cotton, potatoes, corn, safflower, sorghum, peanuts, tomatoes, flax, and cereal grains.
