Applications
Foramsulfuron is a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of branched chain amino acids -- ALS enzyme inhibitor. Symptoms Foramsulfuron is spraying. Within a few hours to sensitive plants to produce growth inhibition. According to crop types and environmental conditions, the visible symptoms first appear in after spraying 24-28h, obvious symptoms occur in most cases after 1-2W. Sensitive plants usually Leaf Chlorosis, necrosis after treatment, then meristem chlorotic necrosis, and finally the whole plant death. Foramsulfuron through the leaves to absorb, transfer in plants, especially the delivery to the meristem. The basis for selective Foramsulfuron is it quickly in detoxification metabolism speed of corn plants (with or without iodized Metsulfuron methyl), and in contrast to sensitive plants with almost no degradation of the parent compound. There are three major metabolic pathway in maize; Oxidation hydrolysis, amino sulfonylurea bridge deacylated, two methoxy pyrimidine ring.
Application Technical Requirements
- Apply at the recommended dosage during the 3-6 leaf stage of corn and 2-5 leaf stage of weeds, using a foliar spray after diluting with water. Dilution rate: 15-30 kg water per mu.
- Do not apply during windy weather or if rain is expected within 1 hour.
- Maximum 1 application per season.
Product Performance
This is a selective post-emergence herbicide for cornfields, offering high efficacy against most monocot and dicot weeds in corn-growing regions.
Precautions
- Strictly follow pesticide safety guidelines.
- Use only on common hybrid corn (dent, floury, flint, and semi-flint types).
- Temporary chlorosis (whitening) and stunting may occur in seedlings but typically resolve within 1-3 weeks without yield impact.
- Prohibited on popcorn, waxy corn (glutinous type), and all corn inbred lines.
- Avoid on sweet corn-severe chlorosis, twisting, and stunting will occur.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear protective goggles, masks, gloves, goggles, and coveralls. Avoid contact with skin or eyes.
- Prevent drift to adjacent crops to avoid phytotoxicity.
- No eating, drinking, or smoking during application.
- Shower immediately after application; wash protective gear and clothing.
- Dispose of empty containers properly. Do not reuse, repurpose, or discard carelessly.
- Prevent contamination of water bodies, soil, or washing equipment in ponds.
- Keep away from pregnant/nursing women.
First Aid Measures
Low-toxicity herbicide. If exposure occurs:
- Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with plenty of water, wash with soap, then rinse again. Seek medical help if irritation persists.
- Eye exposure: Flush eyes with water for ≥15 minutes (eyelids held open). Seek medical attention.
- Inhalation: Move victim to fresh air; keep warm and rested. Seek medical help.
- Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Take label to medical facility.
- Antidote: None available; treat symptomatically.
Storage and Transportation
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not store or transport with food, feed, or seeds. Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.
- Store in a cool, dry, ventilated warehouse, away from heat or ignition sources.
